Lab 9/8: Isolation of Bacteria Part II

(the top is the bacteria grown from the phone, the bottom is from the bathroom door handle)

This is the view of the bacteria using the microscope.

The left petri dish contains the 3 different types of bacteria, and one type was isolated and put in the petri dish on the right.
We took the petri dishes out of the incubator to observe the bacteria that grew since 9/4. The bacteria from the cell phone looked like white dots. There were 3 types of bacteria from the bathroom door handle. The first type had a concentric shape and filaments with a blue/green color and it was raised off the petri dish, the second type was circular and had a tan/cream color, the last one had a puntiform shape and also had tan/cream color. The next step of our project was to isolate a specific type of bacteria. In order to do this we got another petri dish and took a sample of the second type of bacteria and smeared it in different quadrants on the petri dish. It was then put in the incubator and will be taken out next week on  9/13.
